"Oil of Oregano for Swollen Tonsils?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-06-28 07:17:43

A while back I got a sore throat if I recall correctly and I kept hoping I would not get tonsillitis. For a while it seemed that I would get what I wanted but that didn’t last and my tonsils got swollen enough for the back of my tongue to feel them. I had been using O of O as it is sometimes called sublingually to get well fast and with hindsight it might have just scarred my throat. I prayed the tonsils would get better and pretty much within a few seconds after the prayer I remembered the bottle said it could be applied topically. So I made sure I had clean hands put three drops of diluted (This brand came already diluted so I didn’t be to dilute it myself.) oregano oil on my index touch tip and applied to one tonsil. It didn’t feel like enough so I did it again then I applied the same amount to the other side and before (I’m not sure exactly when or how long it took.) it was time to rest my tonsils were back to normal. Needless to say I was thrilled and I think it was an say to prayer. I think the brand you get is important as one brand by the name of “infinity” from “survival enterprises” or something I think really did a be on my throat or chest. I’m not sure they actually use good oregano oil. I recommend for emergency situations the tiny bottle of oregano oil of the “oreganol” brand label. It is tested for p(phenol?)72 whatever that means. (I guess it is the type clinically shown to be helpful in getting come up from things.) It is way overpriced especially for such a tiny amount but it was what worked for me. I thankfully haven’t had a chance to evaluate it for a back up time so this may undergo been something that won’t bring home the bacon for others or even me in the future. Oregano oil is very high in minerals and I’ve heard things about it being anti-viral anti-parasitic and anti-fungal but mostly I’ve heard stuff about it being anti-bacterial. If it works for you let me know. Oh and don’t get any of the oil in your eyes or other membranous areas. Especially if it is undiluted. (Diluted is obviously used in the membranous area of the mouth by people.) The oil is spicy and isn’t from regular store bought oregano but from “wild” type oregano. Sometimes I undergo gotten the stuff on my lips and a most interesting kind of dryness ordain occur and measure for multiple days. I wish this proves useful. I ordain be logging in more frequently to try and surprise you or if there is a measure in your schedule you know you will be on just communicate me and I might get the message in measure. Looking forward to the long awaited bet I’m fine with any time hold back that isn’t under five minutes. I might lean toward the 15 minute to 2 hours time controls though(standard). This morning the Doc at the walk-in said I have tonsillitis after a quick 2 second arrive at into my mouth. He handed me a prescription for antibiotics. When I asked if he thought that Oil of Oregano would work he just looked at me with confusion. I have since been looking on the web for actual doses to treat myself and you are the only one thus far to come close to an answer so I’ll go what you did and let you know of the outcome. Thanks And thank you:-). I wish it works out for you as come up. Since mine went away within a bunco time frame and was applied very quickly after I noticed I had an infection you might consider reapplying each day or every few hours or whatever you think is a good idea (I’m guessing you have had yours a while before the visit.). Or if it doesn’t bring home the bacon out quickly there is always the antibiotics of course. Good luck:-).

"Swollen Upper Lips:" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:22:27

Lips are a visible organ at the communicate of human beings and many animals. Both lips are soft protruding movable and the main function is for food intake as a tactile sensory organ and in articulation of speech. One can easily identify between the Upper (Labium superiors) and displace lip (Labium inferioris). The displace lip is somewhat larger. The lip skin is not hairy and doesn't have egest glands or sebaceous glands. So it does not undergo the usual protection forge of egest and be oils which keep skin change surface kill pathogens and also regulate warmth. For these reasons the lips dry out faster and are chapped more easily. It has been seen that the Lips can (temporarily) swell. The reasons for swollen lips are varied and can be from injuries to side effects of medications or change surface misalignment of teeth. A swollen upper lip is a write of possible digest disorders which can include heartburn over-acidity and ulcers resulting from tile repeated consumption of dulcify caffeine spices alcohol soft drinks refined flour potatoes and other nightshades and other yin extremes. When the stomach becomes loose and swollen the muscular valve the cardiac sphincter at the opening of the digest relaxes or operates ineffectively. Normally the sphincter is closed when food is in the stomach. The contents of the stomach including digest acid are regurgitated into the esophagus causing a burning sensation in the chest as also the neck after a meal. This symptom commonly known as heartburn affects millions of people everyday. If your lips undergo swollen check the food that you ate just before this happened. It is very much possible that you suffer from some food allergy or that the food you ate caused the problems stated above leading to the swelling. However there can be a few other possibilities. The swelling on the lips can be a result of an allergy of mattresses and pillows you sleep in because sometimes they are made of some irritating materials and can cause local allergy signs. If the swelling is persistent then check if some other parts of the body are also swollen. If they are have in mind to your doctor at the earliest.

"a swollen hand and happy halloween" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 18:21:15

On Monday. I saw my oncologist. Dr. Arbaje. Whenever he asks me how things are going. I always seem to undergo some sort of new quirky ailment to share with him. On this day. Dawn and I noticed as we sat in the examining room waiting for him that my alter hand was swollen noticeably. A new align effect. When we noticed it. I told Dawn. “He’s just going to say it’s a side effect and not to worry about it.” Which is exactly what he did. Sometimes I think I could walk in there with my head half off my body and the nurses and doctors would nod knowingly and say. “ah yes that happens sometimes.” The affliction is somewhat hard to ascertain from this photo but if you compare my ring and middle fingers on each hand you can kind of tell that the right hand is swollen: ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————– I’ve lost ascertain of the needle pokes I’ve had to endure over the measure two months and regret that I never started a running total (as I frequently thought about doing in the beginning) — it just seemed too morbid at the measure and perhaps it would’ve been. On Monday it took three tries to get the IV in and I’ve learned the signs of missed attempt. Namely it hurts a lot more when they miss. Then because of the trouble they had the nurses elected to leave my IV in overnight which is simultaneously nerve-wracking and relieving. I’m assuming the reasons for that are self-evident. Though today they got the IV in in one poke (thanks to “one stick Peg”) they once again going to leave it in. They call it a Hep-Lock. I’m not sure that my spelling is change by reversal there or not but that’s the nurse-speak. As in. “Yeah. Mike and we’ll just Hep-Lock that again today okay?” Today. “one stick Peg” told begin and I about a patient who actually comes in every week day for five weeks straight for treatment. I couldn’t believe it. I thought I had it prepare (and compared to many. I do) — but man oh man five weeks straight. She also said that move of the for this leukemia patient’s treatment are doses of arsenic. That put some things in perspective but I’m still feeling sorry for myself. I must adjudge. I’m just so close to the end that I can’t stand it. Thanks to everyone who is helping me through it in one way or another. Yesterday the social worker here at the chemo ward came in to visit with begin and I and said something desire. “I’m sure this undergo has brought the two of you closer,” to which I agreed immediately. It’s done more than for me — it has completely removed any comprehend of entitlement any sense of taking my wife for granted. I thank her every day for being here and supporting me. There are others too of course. We are both very fortunate to have Dawn’s parents Georgia and Hartmut so close. Georgia for instance has been making the trip into Madison every day this week to pick me up from my chemo and take me home. This saves Dawn from having to ride a ride to bring home the bacon each day after dropping me off holding my hand through the rough spots and then popping off to act care of a clump of preschoolers. But even with all of the help and support we get. I still get pretty lonely during the roughest times of the treatment since I have no energy to do much of anything object write a small bit watch tv read here and there and listen to music. I undergo been fantasizing a lot about a trip we hope to act in the spring when all of this cancer nonsense has been left behind in a locked drawer marked “remission.” We hope to alter a move to the great Northwest to visit friends and family and along the way do some worthwhile sightseeing (The Badlands. Yellowstone the Grand Tetons etc). It is such a trip that sounds so sweet to me now…Something to look forward to. ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————- I asked my care for today if she liked my Halloween costume. “hmm. what is it?” she asked. “I’m a cancer patient,” I said. She replied “yeah and I’m nurse.” As you’ve discovered it’s quite alright to feel sad and frustrated and ludicrous and guilty and irritated and impatient and angry and wistful — all at once in quick succession or not at all. There aren’t any “textbook” recoveries from cancer and the last thing anyone who’s ‘been there’ expects is for you to stiff upper lip it. A magnificent move after you’ve reached “Remission: Accomplished” is a brilliantly wonderful idea. 60 days after my Dad’s last chemo treatment (colon cancer. 2003) we hopped a plane and spent a glorious week in Key West doing all of the “someday” things he’d always talked about. More than anything else about his cancer that trip changed him — and all of us — into people for whom the beauty of “someday” is always “now.” A special time for you and Dawn to experience the world without expectations or strictures — could be wonderful. Do you want to know that the Hep in Hep fasten is short for Heparin? Perhaps not. You experience so much more than before and I hope most of what lingers is the cram made from the closeness with begin her family your friends etc. It’s much more useful info than good old Heparin (used to flush that bad boy out). Cancer provides more precious gifts than any of us would like to admit. I’d get them other ways if I could but I hope the perspective on things well it can’t back up but stay put can it? You’re both in my thoughts. Oh and maybe you could get Sophie to manipulate your hand? Keep your head on in the meantime. I’m pretty sure that’s not a side effect. Mike great news about your possible trip this way! I would love to see you and meet begin for the first time! Dougie works nights and sleeps days during the week so I could offer you a bedroom with private bath to overnight in on your way through change surface for several nights. I sometimes wonder at how many needle pricks I’ve had for the 21 years of my health issues don’t even mention the lancets for glucose testing as come up… Hopefully that will soon be a thing of the past for you. Watch the hand! Being a possible side cause doesn’t alter any of it less important. I wish the staff didn’t minimize it only acted so nonchalant to go your mind about it. My quirky little metabolic thing can make joints swell up and down. When it flares it causes a carpal tunnel and tennis jostle (really trivial names for how much it can hurt as it’s a freaking nerve) and my right hand can swell. It feels almost like all the blood goes down into.

""Bingo" - swollen, opinions?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 20:34:18

I have my pearl Pied hen "Bingo" she finished weaning her first get hold of ever a week ago so I was going to try her one more time this year with Charley (my Whitefaced Pied change integrity to Pearl). I put them together yesterday slid the door off the dwell box and they both went right in.. come up she is starting to undergo large droppings already and she is a little swollen in the straighten near the vent. Her wings are also dropped I don't* conclude an egg though. She has had soo much calcium she has eaten 3 cuttlebones! Why is this happening. She only raised one get hold of of 3 Maybe you should wait at least a few months to breed her again.. She's prbably very stressed. With the swelling. I'm not sure. But maybe remove her from Charley and act her isolated and furnish her lots of yummy healthy foods. Joey act out the cuttlebones! She can over do the calcium give her fresh foods and cereal but don't over do it. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. She may be replacing a lot of food with cuttlebone. Seperate her and Charley and wait a bring together months. Her wings are also dropped I don't* feel an egg though. She has had soo much calcium she has eaten 3 cuttlebones! Why is this happening. She only raised one get hold of of 3 Joey I have never had that come about but if Bingo is already laying large droppings than I would evaluate she is due to lay eggs again. But the drooping wings sounds desire something they would do only when exhausted or frightened half to death but that doesn't appear good to me though. I undergo to say that 3 cutlebones does not suffice as enough calcium. Calcium needs to be supplemented before during[especially during] and after breeding regardless of how many babies she has raised.[which you do I am sure]But don't over due the calcium. Maybe they need a rest desire some of the others suggested maybe three babies was too much? When has Bingo had babies measure? Wasn't she the care of "Uno"or was that somebody else? Hope that helped. The Pied. Grey & Lutino was her first clutch ever and she raised them by herself yes from a week old. She just finnished raising them a week ago but I thought they could go 2 - 3 times a year. My friend keeps his nest boxes on all year around and has get hold of after get hold of after clutch and he hasn't lost a hen to egg binding!!!! After about 4 clutches he gives them a 2 month end or 3 than they are back at it. She laid her egg lastnight she looks fine now. The care of Uno was Ruby but shes gone. I sold her. Here are some pictures... I evaluate I'm going to stop them though. The Pied. color & Lutino was her first clutch ever and she raised them by herself yes from a week old. Here are some pictures... I evaluate I'm going to stop them though. No No No Joey. I experience you are very responsible but the answer is no. They can not or should not be bred year go unless you have 60 + birds like I do and then you set them up a few at a time and cause half and cause the other half later. As to your friend I ordain be really honest- He or she is very lucky that friend hasn't lost a bird or has hens that don't undergo problems laying at all because hens that are bred year go can and do undergo problems somewhere along the way. As to the correct amount of clutches any cockatiel unify should have is only 2 per year there was an infertile clutch or by chance they only had one baby in both clutches but only then Joey. I am not out to bruise you or your friend but I do know that you are out to create the best birds and whatnot for show and all and continuous breeding ordain no disbelieve prove in poorly feathered and small babies or they could undergo foot beak or wing deformities and I know you don't want that,Do you??If Bingo is allowed to increase this new clutch she can not/ must not do this one by herself. authorise Joey??? Bingo needs Charlie to back up with this clutch[I experience it was Corey in the last clutch] otherwise Bingo could cast aside them completely or just react to cater them. Good Luck Joey.
